Dan Felder Interview

Content Creator TheSkilledRoy interviewed Riot Games Game Design Manager Dan Felder on his Twitch channel to discuss upcoming Path of Champions content.

In the interview, Dan introduced a new mode to the Path of Champions. Monthly Challenges would be a new adventures players can unlock once they reach level 15. In this challenge players would only be able to use a champion 3 times, once they have been used 3 times it will lock the champion and will only unlock once the Monthly Challenge has been reset.

In the Monthly Challenge, there will be 70 procedurally generated challenges which Dan expects the very slim majority to actually complete. This aims to make the challenges different each time players enter the challenge and gives players who enjoy the Path of Champions game mode more to look forward to each month.

The second big announcement in the livestream was the reveal that a Path of Champions leaderboard would be implemented to the client so players would be able to see who has achieved the most points by playing in the mode.

Unfortunately, during this beta period (which was also revealed not to have a set time frame) there will be no rewards for completing the Monthly Challenges. However, Dan did say that there was a new reward which would also be coming to PvP that he would love to see added as a reward for Path of Champions!

Finally, Dan also mentioned that he would also like to make some Path of Champion balance changes again to spice up the meta and give players another reason to jump back into the game mode.
